Yes, in certain circumstances a bridge prescription may be available if you are experiencing a delay with your home delivery order and need to avoid a gap in your medication.
A bridge prescription is a short-term prescription, typically covering three to five days of medication, that can be sent to a local pharmacy while you wait for your home delivery order to arrive. This is intended to ensure that your treatment continues uninterrupted during an unexpected delay.
Who can request a bridge prescription:
- Patients who have an active home delivery order that is delayed beyond the expected delivery window
- Patients who are at risk of running out of medication before their home delivery arrives
- Patients whose delivery has been lost, damaged, or returned
How to request a bridge prescription:
- Contact Patient Support as soon as you become aware of the delay. The earlier you reach out, the easier it is for us to arrange a bridge.
- Let us know your situation, including when you placed your order, when it was expected, and how many days of medication you have remaining.
- Our team will liaise with your clinician to request a bridge prescription if it is clinically appropriate.
Please note: a bridge prescription is not guaranteed and is subject to clinician approval. It is also subject to applicable regulations around controlled substances, which may limit what can be prescribed and for how long. Bridge prescriptions are intended as a temporary measure and do not replace your regular home delivery order.
To avoid needing a bridge prescription in the future, we recommend placing your next home delivery order several days before your current supply runs out.
