A higher-dose oral micronized progesterone for women who need stronger endometrial protection or have more significant perimenopausal symptoms.
Treats: Protects the uterine lining when taking estrogen in MHT, management of heavier or more irregular perimenopausal bleeding, sleep support.
How to take it: One capsule by mouth at bedtime.
Important:
- Contains peanut oil — tell your clinician immediately if you have a peanut allergy.
- Not for use during pregnancy.
Common side effects: Drowsiness (mild to moderate — take at bedtime), breast tenderness, bloating, mood changes (typically improve within 1–3 months), mild dizziness when standing up quickly.
Micronized progesterone has a more favorable safety profile regarding breast cancer risk compared to older synthetic progestins.
