A higher-dose oral estrogen tablet used in MHT to relieve symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.
Treats: Hot flashes and night sweats, vaginal dryness and discomfort, mood changes, sleep disruption, brain fog, bone density loss.
How to take it: One tablet by mouth daily, at the same time each day. Swallow whole with water. Can be taken with or without food.
Important:
- If you still have a uterus, you must also take progesterone to protect the uterine lining. Taking estrogen alone without progesterone increases the risk of endometrial cancer.
- Not for use during pregnancy.
If you miss a dose: Take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. Do not double up.
Common side effects (first few months): Breast tenderness, bloating, headaches, irregular spotting. These usually improve.
