QuickMD primarily prescribes Suboxone (buprenorphine-naloxone). Suboxone contains naloxone as an abuse deterrent — if dissolved and injected, the naloxone triggers immediate withdrawal, making misuse significantly less likely. Subutex (buprenorphine only) lacks this deterrent.
When Subutex may be considered: If you have a documented medical allergy or adverse drug reaction to naloxone specifically — not just a preference for buprenorphine-only products. Clinical documentation is required.
If you believe you have a naloxone allergy, raise it at your next visit. Your clinician will review your history and determine if Subutex is medically appropriate.
