What does kratom/7-OH withdrawal look like, and when should I get help right away?

If you've been using kratom or 7-OH regularly and you cut back or stop, withdrawal can start within about 12 to 24 hours of your last use, and can last anywhere from several days to a few weeks. Common symptoms include:

● Physical: muscle aches and stiffness, chills and sweating, nausea or stomach cramps, and trouble sleeping.

● Mental and emotional: anxiety, irritability, low mood, and cravings.

These symptoms can be genuinely difficult, and it's a good idea to talk to a clinician rather than trying to manage severe withdrawal entirely on your own, especially if you're considering stopping suddenly after regular use.

Please seek help immediately (call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room) if you or someone else experiences any of the following:

● Signs of overdose: confusion, slowed or shallow breathing, or unresponsiveness.

● Seizures.

● Signs of possible liver injury: dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, nausea, or fatigue.

● Mixing kratom or 7-OH with alcohol or benzodiazepines, which raises overdose risk.

If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) right away, or call 911. You don't have to go through this alone, and reaching out is not a sign of failure.
